L.A. County sheriff's deputy killed in ambush shooting

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy has died after an ambush shooting on Saturday night.Authorities received reports of the shooting around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Sierra Avenue and Avenue Q.The deputy killed was identified as Ryan Clinkunbroomer, 30. He joined LASD's Palmdale station in 2018 and served as a field training officer for over a year. He had just gotten engaged four days prior to his death, said L.A. County Sheriff Robert Luna. He comes from a family filled with generations of LASD deputies, including his father and grandfather.Officials confirmed Clinkunbroomer was found shot and unconscious inside his patrol vehicle by a good Samaritan.The shooting was some type of ambush involving another vehicle driving past Clinkunbroomer in the opposite direction when they fired at him. DENVER (KDVR) -- Four people were taken to the hospital after a shooting in LoDo Saturday night.The Denver Police Department tweeted about the shooting at 11:30 p.m. Download the FOX31 App: Breaking news alerts & Pinpoint Weather According to DPD's tweet, the shooting happened in the 1900 block of Market Street. PALMDALE, Calif. (AP) — A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy died after he was shot in his patrol car Saturday evening by an unknown assailant and an investigation is underway that the sheriff said will press all of the department’s resources into action.Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, 30, died after being transported to a hospital, Sheriff Robert Luna said in a press conference late Saturday night.The preliminary investigation showed Clinkunbroomer was driving while on duty and fired upon around 6 p.m. He was found by an unidentified person Luna identified as a “good Samaritan” who called emergency services.
